KATHMANDU: The Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police today arrested a man who was on the run after being convicted in a forgery case, eight years ago.
Sujan Shrestha (39) of Sunsari had been absconding since the Lalitpur District Court sentenced him one year in jail on April 23, 2004 in absentia. He was found guilty of forging of government seals and signatures.
Shrestha is learnt to have been operating Himalayan Manpower Service at Kupandole in recent times. DSP Krishna Kumar Mahat said he was found to be importing stolen vehicles from India by evading customs and transferring their ownerships in his name by forging documents. He has been handed over to the court to execute the eight-year-old verdict.
