होइन यो भर्दै नभरेको डी भी भिसा मलाई कसरी पर्यो ?

इमेल चेक गर्दैगर्दा अमेरिकी विदेश मन्त्रालयले पठाएको भन्ने शीर्षक भएको एउटा इमेलमा आँखा लाग्यो। खोलेर हेर्दा त अमेरिकाको स्थायी बसोबास कार्ड (ग्रीनकार्ड वा डिभी) परेको भन्ने पो लेख्या रैछ। अमेरिकाको झण्डा र त्यहाँको विदेश मन्त्रालयको लोगोसहितको इमेल हेर्दा अरु झुक्किन्थे होलान्। तर म झुक्किनँ। किनभने मैले डिभी भरेकै थिइनँ। भर्दै नभरेको

डिभी पर्ने त कुरै भएन नि। त्यहाँमाथि डिभी परेको खबर इमेलमा हैन, चिट्ठीमा पो आउँछ त। सीधै स्पाम रिपोर्ट गरिदिन लागेको थिएँ तर फेरि पोहोर एक जना साथीले कसैलाई नभन्नू है भन्दै यस्तै खाले इमेल देखाएको याद आयो। लप्पनछप्पन नजान्ने सोझासाझालाई ठगिनबाट जोगाउन पनि एउटा ब्लग त लेख्नै पर्छ कि क्या हो जस्तो लाग्यो र इमेललाई साँचेर राखेँ।

अमेरिकी दूतावासले पनि बारम्बार विज्ञप्ति निकालेर भन्ने गरेको छ, यस्ता फ्रड इमेलहरुबाट सावधान रहनुस्। तर अमेरिका भन्ने बित्तिकै जति खर्च पनि गर्न तयार हुने मानसिकताले यी ठगहरुलाई बल मिलेको छ। उनीहरुले हामीले थाहै नपाई कतिलाई ठग्न सफल भइरहेका होलान्। 
तपाईँले डिभी भर्नुभएको छ र यस्तो इमेल आयो भने सुरुमा त पक्कै झुक्किनुहुनेछ। तर अलिकति मात्रै सावधानी अपनाइयो भने यी र यस्ता मेलहरु फ्रड हुन् भनेर थाहा पाउन गाह्रो छैन।

सबैभन्दा सुरुमा त यो इमेल पठाउनेको ठेगाना हेर्नुस्- नाम DEPT.STATE.USA.GOV लेखिए पनि इमेल छ kurstin@trovahomecare.com .gov.us बाट नआएको इमेल कुनै पनि हालतमा अमेरिकी सरकारको आधिकारिक इमेल हुँदै हैन। यसैबाट पनि तपाईँलाई फँसाउन खोजिएको हो भन्ने प्रष्ट हुन्छ।

अर्को कुरा अघि भने जस्तो तपाईँलाई इमेलबाट मात्रै डिभी परेको सूचना आउँदैन। डिभी परेको सूचनासहित थप फर्महरु तपाईँलाई तपाईँको हुलाक ठेगानामा पठाइन्छ।

अनि अझै ध्यान दिनु पर्ने कुरा, ग्रिनकार्ड पाउनलाई तपाईँले बाहिर कतै पैसा पठाउनै पर्दैन। जति शुल्क बुझाउनु पर्छ, त्यो यहीँको दूतावासले तोकेको बैँकमा बुझाउने हो। यो इमेलमा तपाईँलाई ६८२ अमेरिकी डलर पठाउन भनिएको छ। त्यो पठाएपछि हुलाकमा चिट्ठी पठाउँछौँ भनेर झुक्याउन पनि खोजेका छन्। खासमा यी ठगहरुको दाउ नै त्यही ६८२ अमेरिकी डलर पच गर्ने हो। त्यसैका लागि उनीहरुले यो सब प्रपञ्च रचेका हुन्।

पोहोर एक जना साथीलाई डिभी पर्‍यो भन्ने सुनेको थिएँ। पछि लेटर आएन रे पो भन्छ। के रैछ भन्दा त यस्तै इमेल आएको रैछ र पैसा पठाएको रे। कहाँको आउँथ्यो लेटर। पैसा पच पारिहाले नि। उनले न कतै उजुरी दिए, न हल्ला नै गरे आफ्नो बेइज्जत हुने डरले। त्यत्रो रकम गुपचुपमै पच भयो। यस्तै कैयन् अरु घटना पनि होलान्। तपाईँले पनि थाहा पाउनु भएको भए बाँड्न सक्नुहुन्छ।

के गर्ने त ?
सावधानी अपनाउने। आधिकारिक इमेल हो कि हैन पत्ता लगाउन मज्जैले सकिन्छ। यी र यस्ता कुनै पनि मेलले जतिसुकै लोभ्याए पनि पैसा बाहिर पठाउने काम कहिले पनि नगर्ने। जानेको मान्छेलाई यसबारे सोध्ने।

Visa Payment processing instructions
