DHANGADHI: As many as seven Nepali migrant wokers were buried to death and four have been seriously injured at Darma of Pithauragadh in Uttarakhanda of India on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased have been identified as Mandhwaj Koli (43) of Bishalpur VDC, Bishnu Ram Bhul (35), Shyam Ram Bhul (32), Santosh Ram Lohar (40), Ramiram Lohar, Birendra Ram Soni (25) and Bhup Ram Soni (49) of Baitadi district, informed DSP Dev Bahadur Bogati of District Police Office, Darchula.
Eleven Nepali worker were working on the road construction at Darma of Pithauragah, an Indian district adjoining Darchula when the incident took place. Of the injured, the condition of the two victims - Man Lohar of Bishalpur 2 and Ramesh Ram Lohar of Sarmali VDC-8 of the district - is critical, Darchula Distrit Police Office said citing Indian Police.
All the injured are undergoing treatment at a Dharchula-based community health centre in India.
Nepal Police said they received information only today even though the incident took place yesterday afternoon. The incident site lies around 50 km to the north-west from the district headquarters of Darchula district.
